As it is known, a special quarantine regime has been applied to prevent the threat of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and within the framework of urgent measures taken by the country's leadership in this direction, the term of the April 2020 conscription has been extended until May 31 in order to avoid possible risks related to the health of young conscripts.
In accordance with the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev, the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan born in 2002 and having reached the age of 18 by April 30, 2020, as well as those born in 1985-2001 and being under the age of 35 and who have not completed active military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and who do not have the right of deferment from conscription for active military service or have not been released from conscription for active military service will be sent to active military service by the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription (SSMC) until May 31, 2020.
The conscripts to be sent to active military service in the Republic of Azerbaijan in May 2020 were informed by SMS about the appointment to the service places in the Armed Forces on April 22 by the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.
From May 01, 2020, it has been started to send the conscripts to their service places according to the established schedule.
